How to help Mar

Remember our friend Mar (he is living in a senior apartment building and has suffered a stroke) who we were going to help move this weekend? Well, thing have changed, and he is moving on a different day, with some neighbors helping. Now what he really needs is a move out cleaning - and he can't afford it. Can you help him clean his place so he gets his precious deposit back? Sometime this weekend - let's see what days/times work for folks.
Thank you! Nina 546-4697

I am speechless. I have a beautifully hand decorated card in my hands with a check for Imagine Missoula.
The card reads "We were impressed that even though you don't have much money, you try your best to help elders and single parents."
THANK YOU CS PORTER 7th GRADERS for choosing Imagine Missoula to donate half of your hard - raised money! You have made us so happy and we promise that will continue to work hard to keep serving our neighbors who need us with this generous donation!

Partnership with Missoula Aging Services!

We have streamlined the way we work with MAS, continuing to provide quality help for the folks they serve, and maintain our fabulous relationship with the case workers and volunteers! Check out this excerpt from their newsletter:
"Missoula Aging Services and Imagine Missoula were able to assist a number of households with snow removal and other needs that arose as a result of the heavy snow storm in January. Together they designed a system that allows MAS to post requests from clients and volunteers to Imagine Missoula through one consolidated process. In turn, MAS is also able to connect with volunteers who would like to provide short-term service to seniors or have a specific skill they would like to share. Imagine Missoula is a non-profit organization helping people help each other, with emphasis on those in Missoula whose community is 'thin' - single parents, at-risk youth, working poor and the elderly. Pretty awesome!

Just a Note From My Heart

Volunteers, I want you to know something. You are doing something that no one else is doing in Missoula. You are proving over and over to people who are living in deep need that we are a reliable resource for them. We are hope for them, because before we were here, they had absolutely no one to help. All the little things, the boxes carried, the tubs cleaned, the rides given, send an important message to these folks - "You matter, and you are not alone." Thank you.

Thank you! And can you help?

Thank you to Nancy, Naomi, Sue and Morgan for packing Jeanne on Friday and to Casey and Kelly for dropping off supplies!
Thank you to Katrina, James, Mark, Nathan, Matthew, Casey, Shelby, Jeremy and Ron for moving her! That took a village!

She is so happy to be in her nice clean new place. I am always impressed by what it means to be the people folks call who have no one to help them. Jeanne couldn't stop telling me how she just couldn't believe we are here, doing what we do. THAT is being Missoula.

Can two or three folks get Joan's daughter's things out of her room at the care facility and into her storage unit? They want it out of the room so they can open it up to a new patient and Joan cannot do it on her own.

Thank you. I know how valuable your time is, and I am honored to be able to tell folks that you will take some of that time and dedicate it to them :)
(Alex took my phone charger to work with him up in Pablo today :( so email me back about this one :)

Diane and Mar need some help!

Hi folks!

Just talked with Diane, and she could use a contractor to come and install a shower head and bars in her shower so that she can use them more easily, since she is struggling more and more physically. Are you a contractor or do you know one?

And Mar needs to move from one unit in his senior community building to another (he is right by the elevators!) and we could use about four or so folks to blast through this for him (he is a lovely man who has suffered a stroke and a recent heart attack, so he could really use our help!) His move is set for 9am on March 3rd - can you help?

That's it for needs for now! Thanks to Mitch, Amanda and Christine for power cleaning Jackie's place on Sunday!

Next up - preorder your All Souls Ale! It is the Big Sky Brewery special beer that they create just for Imagine Missoula because they love what we do. Cases are selling as we speak :)

Call me if you can help Diane and/or Mar!
